Collection includes one diary, with details of Bayne's work at the National Theatre and Tremont Theatre in Boston together with information about the business of these theatres, the actors, productions, Dickens' visits and more; one catalog that describes Bayne's panoramas of the city of Boston and the continent of Europe; one legal document that is Bayne's certificate of naturalized United States citizenship; two letters from Edinburgh, 1829 and 1829, to Walter Bayne at theatres in Glasgow and Sterling, from William McPherson; one letter to Bayne from William Gordon, 1847, about the panorama that has a pen sketch of a scene from the show; one letter containing a calculation of interest and a personal note; three large broadsides advertising "Bayne's Gigantic Panoramic Picture"; nineteen broadsides advertising other performances from the 1870s and 1893; and one clipping of a favorable review of "London Assurance" at the national Theatre, managed by [William] Pelby, with praise for Bayne's "scenic painting."

The Tremont Theatre (1827–1843) on 88 Tremont Street was a playhouse in Boston, Masschusetts. The Tremont never turned a profit during its 16-year running, despite the owners bringing in theatrical figures such as Junius Brutus Booth, Charlotte Cushman, George Washington Dixon, Fanny Elssler, Edwin Forrest, John Gilbert, Charles and Fanny Kemble, and Thomas D.
